Minimum Noise is a superb new online marketplace which connects musicians with people looking for custom created music. It’s based on a conventional marketplace meme such as you’ll find on all those freelance coder and designer sites like Rent-a-Coder, in that the buyer posts a need for a piece of music, and the musicians bid to win the contract. The musos can also upload clips to show the type of music they would/can supply and there’s a nice comments area where everything can be discussed in the open.
It costs buyers $30.00 to create a project, and for musicians it’s free. The interface is beautiful and clean with no wasted space at all, and the embedded Flash music player for the bid clips is a dream. I just love intelligent applications like this, and hope the whole thing goes massive. Musicians need to earn a living in this brave new world, and this is as good a way to do it as any. The rates are pretty small at the moment, though, hopefully they’ll rise as the site gains in popularity. Excellent!
Need Music Produced? Minimum Noise is a music marketplace that allows you to crowdsource music production. It works like this: 1. You create a project, describing the kind of music you need and how much you want to pay for it 2. Producers participate by uploading audio clips that you can evaluate 3. You choose the one you like, transfer the money and receive the audio.
