Mobius Solar iPhone Battery helps you on your path to be green

It’s hard to think about being eco-friendly with your gadgets. After all, just owning one isn’t very green. Just think of all of the materials that went into constructing your favorite device, and how much energy was used to craft it. Then you go out and by cases and accessories, which will no doubt end up in a landfill someday. The very least you can do is try to occasionally recharge it with something other than a wall outlet.

This Solar iPhone Battery can help you on your quest to feel a bit better about your impact on the environment. Not content to just recharge your phone, the solar panel actually feeds into a separate battery that can provide up to 5 extra hours of talk time. So how long does it take to charge? In direct sunlight, you’ll get roughly 25 minutes of talk time for every hour in the sun. The question is whether or not you have access to enough direct sunlight throughout the day to justify the $100 price.

  • But but… the iPhone hates the day star. I'm an avid gardening, and several times this month, I've set my iPhone down for just 5 minutes while outside, and it overheats and displays the warning of doom while it cools back down.

    • Haha, that's hilarious. I guess all smartphones hate direct sunlight like that. Good point though, maybe be careful if charging on a windowsill etc.
