Cool footwear is not so much a fashion thing, more a religion. Which is probably why so many eco shoe projects end up failing miserably. This latest effort, from international company Mother of Earth (MoEa) may buck the trend. Their MoEa Sneakers are apparently crafted from only the finest fruit and vegetables. Not sure whether they’re organic (artf!), but we applaud the concept wholeheartedly.

The product is currently finalising a Kickstarter fund raise, which they’ve smashed. So maybe this will translate into something great. At the moment there are five fruit/colours available in the range. Pineapple, grape, cactus, corn and apple. Sounds yummy. We’re not talking cheap here mind you, since the retail price seems to start at $129 a pair. Not sure if you can buy them in singles to save cash.
