MolCraft – the mod that turns Minecraft into a classroom

MolCraft I Molecules in Minecraft

Minecraft is beloved of fans around the world. The simple game has captured the hearts of children and adults alike. You can build whatever you want in the open environment and people have fallen in love with it. If you happen to play on the computer now you use it to learn about the world of chemistry as well with MolCraft, the add on that teaches you science.

This was developed by the University of Hull and the Royal Society of Chemistry to help teach students all about biochemistry. It features giant size molocules for students to view but it wouldn’t be much of a game if that was all there was.

It also has a scavenger hunt with rewards to push students to explore and discover new things. The entire package is free to download and install and can even be used to fill your own world with molecules. If your kid (or you) is obsessed with the blocky world of Steve and company, why not throw in a little education along with it? MolCraft is totally free but you will need a licensed copy of Minecraft to play.
