Move to Asgardia – hate the weather in your city? Why not move to space

Moving to a new country is a life changing experience and some people have found that it opens up paths for them that they never before dreamed possible. If moving to Germany from the US or to the US from Australia can change the trajectory of your life, imagine what relocating to Asgardia, the first space country, can do.

Now, I played all the Bioshock games so I don’t have high hopes for a technologically advanced society cut off from the world but I guess there is a chance that it won’t explode on itself. I guess. This place isn’t a reality yet but Igor Ashurbeyli, the Russian scientist and businessman who clearly is willing to take some chances, announced his plans to create a floating country in space. You can apply for citizenship.

This isn’t too far of a stretch as space travel is being more commercialized and readily available to “common” people. Which is to say, non-astronauts. Eventually, he would like the UN to recognize his colony as an actual country (at a future time when it actually exists) and the hope is even though citizenship is open to the world, none of the prejudice of the people will follow them. But like I said, I’ve played Bioshock. Check out the press conference for more information.
