Mulve is a freeware music finder program which makes no pretension to be anything other than a way to find and download music tracks. What makes it different is the fact that it’s very fast (download a track in 4 seconds or less) and the scope of the library, which the developers say offers 10 million tracks.
The interface is bare bones, you get no streaming or auditioning of tracks and there’s no subtlety about the search. Enter in a name and wait for results. According to the developer’s blog, the music is all culled from the Russian Facebook equivalent, called Vkontakte, and the Mulve program acts a web browser which hooks into the multimedia info on that site. Think of it as a specialised Google clownsuit clone.
All of which explains the speed, the content quality and why it’s going to be difficult to police.
What Mulve does, when you hit the search button, is connect to Vkontakte and use their search. When you download, all files come from Vkontakte as well. At no point in time does any search or download go through the mulve.com website. The program is autonomous. To sum it up – Mulve is a different interface to Vkontakte. You can always register an account there and do exactly the same, as Mulve does (with a few restrictions) in your web browser. And you should – Vkontakte is a great site.
Have you read the Terms of Service for Mulve? Sounds legally questionable.
The magnet:// URL download came down via BitTorrent and My Sophos Anti-virus discarded the downloaded mulve.exe as being infected with 'Mal/Generic-L' ????
This just goes to substantiate that Facebook . com has achieved a lot more than most of the people originally expected.
I kinda agree, it wasn’t one of his best moments, I mean I love Him and all his music,? but I still keep it real, and his verse could have been better to me, but he still did good.
