Navistar GPS Shoes make sure your loved ones stay safe

It’s a sad fact of life that there are times when we need to keep track of people wherever they are. For instance the elderly and mentally infirm, who may go wandering by accident and put themselves in harm’s way. Up until recently the main solutions involved bulky and inconvenient tracking bracelets or anklets, but now there’s a more elegant and discrete solution.

These Navistar GPS Shoes feature an embedded GPS tracking dongle and antenna in the heel of the right shoe. The shoe also contains its own rechargeable battery and sends its signal to a central tracking service which monitors location through satellite and cellular technology.

The shoes transmit their location every 10 or 30 minutes depending on the plan you’re on, they need a 2 hour charge every 48 hours by plugging them into the mains. This is probably the one awkward area about this technology, since we assume that if you’re keeping track of the infirm, you’ll need a third party to handle all the charging stuff, and really a two day power capacity is too short for practical use in our opinion.
