Newspaper Club is one of those crazy ideas which is so out there that it might just work. A bunch of enterprising folk have located some spare printing capacity on a London newspaper printing press, and are renting it out to anyone to create their own printed tabloids. You can produce a maximum of 12 pages per edition, complete with images and colour.
You get a choice of tools, ranging from an in-house editor to a file upload tool which lets you design and collate your edition offline and upload the PDF when you’re done. You can also commission them to design and create something for you, which seems to me to be the best idea by far. It’s hard to design something that looks good!
Once done and checked, they’ll print it off for you on the professional scale print line. There’s a single print run every week, so you’d better hit the deadline or you’ve got a wait. The finished product is delivered in 7 days. Prices range from £35.00 for 5 black and white copies, to a minimum print run of £500 for 500 full colour copies, which seems pretty fair to us.
Oh and some of the results of their bespoke service are pretty awesome! Rupert Murdoch, watch out!
Newspaper Club offers a bespoke service where we’ll make you a whole newspaper; including finding writers and artists, organising design and all the printing and everything else. Recently, we’ve made newspapers for the BBC, Penguin, Folksy and the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
