No More Plastic Toys – campaign to cut down on plastic waste found in kid’s meals

Getting a toy with your food was the height of childhood and kids still greatly enjoy it but the tons of little plastic toys are a problem from the environment. They’re ending up in waste disposal facilities around the world. Two girls have started a campaign to stop plastic toys from coming in kid’s meals.

To be clear, the girls still want toys. I mean, who wouldn’t? Just not the little plastic ones as these end up in the garbage after a couple of weeks. And although, yes, some of them may become valuable collector’s items in the future due to their movie tie ins and what not, the vast majority won’t survive that long.

In response McDonald’s has said they will include books, board games, and soft toys over the next few months which will go into helping to reduce the waste of the toys. Great news all around. Check out the video on the link to hear the girls’ campaign.
