No! No! Hair Remover – hot heat has her hair hazed

Nonohairremoval

The No! No! Hair Remover uses heat, otherwise known as ‘Thermicon technology’ in marketing speak, to sizzle the hairs and make them wither on the vine. Apparently the touch of the hot wire is enough to scare the little follicles right down to their furry little boots, at which point they pack their bags and head off to cooler climes in Finland. Or something. The fact that the thing is a mere $250.00 has us enthused. After all, how could a product so incredibly well priced fail to deliver?

Thermicon works on the thermal principle of heat transference conducting a gentle pulse of heat down the hair follicle. The hair is then separated close to the skin while the signal continues to travel down into the follicle where hair growth takes place. In the follicle the Thermicon Effect is thought to disrupt the cell communication responsible for hair regrowth. The more often this happens, the more effective the treatment is.

  • Get 20% off the no!no! at Sephora:

Sephora offers 20% off with code FF2008 during their Friends & Family Sale going on now through Nov 10.

    I just did!

  • Great idea, except that hair is actually a pretty poor conductor of heat – in fact it’s a pretty good insulator – as evidenced by warm heads everywhere on a cold day.

  • @Rob Ludlow – I think that might be part of the point – if it was a good conductor, then you’d burn your skin. As a poor conductor, the heat from the element goes mostly into the hair, so it should work… not that I’ve thought too thoroughly about it.

  • or… just use a lighter.. works a treat

  • I’ve had electrolysis for 30 years and it’s permanent. I get a touch up treatment for 15 minutes, about once a year now.

Through the years, many rip off products have come and gone. Remember the roll on “Hair Blocker” that would “reduce the growth of hair? Guaranteed, too, but though I had my receipt, no money was refunded. Women are embarrassed and will not file lawsuits, so these people continue to thrive. No!No! cannot possibly remove hair. A wave of heat cannot travel down the hair “painlessly destroy the folicle.” Hair is protein and protein is not a conductor of heat. The ONLY way for hair to be permantly removed is to cut off the blood supply to the follicle, which feeds the hair. The FDA does nothing; it’s a joke. We have to do the research ourselfs and spread the world.
