There’s careful about security and then there’s careful about security. Know what we mean? If you’re one of those folk who’s *careful* about your privacy and the stuff you communicate to people, you might want to think about beefing up your toolset to ensure you don’t leave traces which could get you on television, Wikileaks or worse.

That’s where this NoteShred application can help. The online service offers a free note which you can create instantly, which is encrypted and password protected and which self destructs either after reading or a set amount of time. The app is perfect for sending private logon information for example.

You can attach files to your notes too, and once the note has been created you send the details to the desired email address from within the app to maintain the encrypted security. The recipient gets a simple message with a link to your note (e.g. https://www.noteshred.com/note/3829dd9383d) which they click to access the note. Once read it’s deleted or shredded according to your instructions.

It’s clever, effective and a great way to ensure your stuff stays private when it counts. The difference between shredding and deleting by the way, is that shredding leaves a log of the note, whereas deleting vaporizes the note as if it never existed.
