Ocean Conservation Should Start ASAP – ocean biodiversity needs protection

Oceans are beautiful and full of life. There are so many different types of organisms that live beneath the waves. There’s so much diversity it’s staggering! And about a quarter of it needs serious conservation.

Pollution and climate change have taken their toll everywhere but the ocean has been hit really hard. I order to protect the various life forms that live there, it’s up to us to start conservation efforts, even for those creatures and plants that aren’t very exciting to look at.

There are some key things that scientists think will help. This includes no fishing zones, tougher punishments for illegal fishing and an end to commercial fishing as well as community reserves. These are all pretty drastic but if rolled out over time, they could make lasting change.
