Omgili Stream – awesome tool tracks real time Twitter and message board discussions

Omgilistream2

Omgili Stream is a simply awesome update to the super Omgili discussion search tool, which delivers real time live discussion from around the Internet on your choice of topic. Just enter in a search term, e.g. AIG bonuses, and up pops all the discussions currently happening on messages boards, Twitter and online forums relating to the search. The system updates itself automatically in real time, so you can literally have it sitting on your desktop feeding you information all day. It also features a buzz tracker, which gives you a graphical indication of how ‘hot’ the conversation is at the moment compared with the past few days.

As far as I’m concerned this is the ultimate news tracking tool, primarily because it covers so much more than just a Twitter stream. The message board and forum traffic on a subject matter is infinitely more valuable over time than Twitter stuff because it comes with context, expert opinion and much more detail than you get out of 144 words. For journalists and people who want to keep up to speed with current issues around the globe, this is just an incredible tool.

The only thing that would make it even better would be to hook in conversations from the social media, like Facebook, but no doubt that is something that will come later. With one leap Omgili has delivered something of seminal importance to the Net, talk about wow factor! Knowledge hounds, marketing types and researchers should run to bookmark this immediately. No question.

Omgili Stream gives you a real-time feed of discussions that are taking place in thousands of forums and other discussion-based platforms. The results are a live stream of data from our hard-working crawlers. It is the best solution to tap into the now.

  • Omgili looks pretty good, but if you want a google-style forums search try http://zhift.com/

  • Omgili has fancy features, but the search response is a bit slow. Have a try another forum search engine http://www.fantue.com which is fast and also indexed huge amount of threads.
