Parking Pilot – Parking reversing sensor and breathalyzer

Image

In my cynical world, a parking sensor system and a breathalyzer are pretty much the same thing, if you can’t park without hitting something, chances are you’re drunk … but I digress. This Parking Pilot is a reverse parking sensor kit with display and a breathalyzer. It ships with 4 ultrasonic sensors that you install in the bumper via the included hole-saw, a CPU and a dash-mounted display. The readout gives you distances to obstacles in 0.1 metre increments, a vague shape of the obstacles and as a bonus can also display the outside temperature.

The dash display also has a built-in breathalyzer that will let you now if you’re ok to drive. There are no other details about the breathalyzer, except that it’s for reference only which is probably a good idea, as different countries have different blood alcohol limits. If all it can detect is some alcohol then you’ll probably spend a bit of time punching the thing instead of using it, but your mileage may vary. No price yet, it’s coming soon.

With the Parking Pilot you can accurately judge the distance between your car’s rear bumper and any object that comes within a hazardous distance. This brilliant device uses ultrasonic technology to measure distances in real time and send an audible alert that increases in speed as you become closer to an object. The digital display even shows you the exact distance from an object so you can park your car with perfect precision every time! This is the ideal safety device for backing up, parallel parking, garage parking, and parking in tight areas where the risk of damaging your car is much higher.
