Planting trees is an excellent thing to do for the environment and to help push back against the climate crisis. But are they the magic solution? Well, not really. As much as they help, they are still a lot of unknowns to them.
Namely, not all trees capture CO2 at the same rate. Planting trees that are not able to gain the effect will not be a worthwhile but then, you can’t just start introducing non native species to areas either. There’s also the issue of where are we planting all of these trees?
Still, the process is one that we should engage in not just for the climate, but the planet as a whole. Even if it won’t save the planet on its own, it will not hurt and will go towards making some positive changes.
