Plastic is everywhere. Really. Thanks to microplastics, smaller fibers and such, plastic is being carried by all sorts of weather patterns to the furthest reaches of the Earth and this isn’t great news but it does illustrate how pervasive the problem has really become.
Plastic fibers are being carried in wind, snow, and rain much further than we think. We shed them in clothes, they break down from larger pieces of plastic, the enter water and airways and just hang out, circulating. This may not cause such a problem for everyone for but some groups this can be a big health risk.
There’s the issue that the plastic is polluting what would otherwise be clean environments. The damage won’t be undone overnight but we can all help now by lowering our use of plastics.
