PlasticRoad – the road made from our plastic waste

Plastic waste is a huge problem in the world. It’s going to be on the earth forever. It’s not breaking down, it’s just breaking up and ending up in our food and water on top of the issues animals choking on pop rings and grocery bags. The PlasticRoad concept wants to make roads from our waste.

Innovations like this are great because it doesn’t matter what type of plastics it is, even things that can’t be recycled normally can be used in these sorts of projects allowing them to offset more waste. So major thumbs up to that.

Waste is cubed and then pressed to create the roads. The end result is very light weight but is still durable and should last longer than our standard roads. This isn’t available all over the world and is in fact still in development. Still, this innovation if adopted may help us deal with the plastic problem in a new way. In the meantime, let’s all do our best to use less!
