Plastimake – no 3D printer? No problem

3D printers are awesome but not everyone can afford the machinery needed to print out whatever you want in plastic. Go low tech with Plastimake, the reusable, mold-able plastic you shape with your hands.

This is a neat substance with a lot of applications, but I imagine most people will use it just for fun. The substance comes in beads of plastic. Put it in hot water and it melts together forming a blob of malleable plastic. Then just mold as you want into whatever shape you want. When it’s all ready to go, drop it in ice water and it hardens.

The finished forms are very durable and the plastic comes in a variety of colors giving crafters many options as to what they want to make. This can be used to repair items such as broken tool handles or make all new items like small figures. The substance is non-toxic, clean and easy to use. Make what you want, when you want. One 200g bag is $20 for the base white. It’s $15 for a kit to color the white.
