Potholes and Climate Change – fixing potholes can cut down on emissions

Potholes are awful for your car and turns out, they’re awful for the environment too. New research indicates that fixing up our roads are one way we can help combat climate change. Which is really a bonus because as we mentioned before, potholes are awful.

The concept is pretty simple, by fixing potholes and keeping the roads nice and smooth, drivers will ultimately use less gas to get to where they’re going. Although the process of filling holes does create some emissions, these are less than than what is created by not fixing the potholes.

This is a sort of indirect climate change move as fixing roads is generally seen as infrastructure but all things are connected so taking care of this problem not only helps people in a day to day sense but will also have benefits for carbon goals.
