Presdo – cool new online meeting arranger

Presdo

Presdo is a cute new service that provides a super simple and fast way of arranging a meeting or event with your buddies. Just enter in the desired event in natural English (e.g. dinner with Arnie, Brad, Bruce and Jack next Saturday) and the system will translate the date, and ask you to add email addresses of the proposed attendees to start the process rolling. The invites are then sent out with a suggested time and after that it’s a matter of everyone agreeing.

The interface is lovely and simple, and the functionality has no cruft on it at all. There’s no initial sign up needed to get going – which is just a great way to encourage people to try things out – and the UI operates snappily in every way. The only glitch I found was the failure of the location feature, which didn’t pop up any map or list for my chosen location.

The clear value here is the fact that it saves you having to call round or email everyone on the list, and presumably once the email addresses are in the system and you’ve registered, they’re there for ever, so that bit gets easier too. As is the case with most uber cool applications nowadays, this is a Ruby on Rails development. Nice.

Presdo takes the hassle out of trying to find the best time to get together with people. Use Presdo to minimize the annoying ping pong of email, texting, and voicemail when organizing the next team lunch or trying to grab coffee with a friend.

  • Hey Nigel, thanks for your post on Presdo. This is really a private message to you. You mentioned you had trouble entering a location into the system. I’m curious what location you entered. I’d just like to look into it and see if there’s a problem we need to fix in the code to make it better for you as well as other users.

Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks again for your comments on Presdo. :)
