Propane Tank Gauge – stop the BBQ gas out blues for ever

One of the really annoying things about using propane gas in domestic systems is the fact that you basically play a guessing game every time you start up a gas powered device. It should seem fairly obvious to anyone that putting a gas gauge on the tank or the connector pipe is hugely valuable, but up till now no-one seems to have bothered getting it together.

But now there’s a solution. The quixotically named Propane Gauge is a gas meter which clearly shows whether you’ve got any gas left in the tank or whether you need to replace or refill. No more of that shaking, lifting, guessing, finger in the air stuff.

The thing sits on the connector pipe and gives a segmented display showing how much gas is left depending on whether it’s a cold, warm or hot day. Which leads us to believe it’s based on pressure. Clever aren’t we? It has one other useful function in that it can detect any leaks in the system when you start up the device, which is handy if you want to avoid wasting gas because of dodgy connections or piping. Priced at $19.99.
