Qualys Browsercheck – cool freeware checks your web browser for insecurities and fixes them


The Qualys Browsercheck is a very neat web browser plugin that lets you check for insecurities in your browser and fix them. Most of the issues seem to revolve around outdated components, so the scan will highlight places where you need to close holes by upgrading software. Things like Adobe, Java, Flash and media players such as VLC, and Real Player.


For this reason alone, it’s definitely a worthwhile install, and what’s better is the fact that the plugin makes it a cinch to upgrade your dodgy components. Just hit the Fix It button and you’re off on the upgrade process with zero hassle. Browsercheck currently works with Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox, with beta versions in development for Safari and Opera.
