Quartz Armchair – between a rock and a comfy place

Do you like being edgy and have tons of money to toss at frivolous things? While most of us answer that question with laughter, it doesn’t mean you can’t look at expensive items. It’s always interesting to see what the upper echelons of society are throwing their money at; like chairs that resemble rocks.

The Quartz Armchair is a designer seat that combines a natural aspect to a very geometric form. While it may look like a bunch of rocks in a honeycomb frame…well, it is. This is a two-dimensional frame made of beechwood that becomes home to a multitude of natural foam ‘crystals’ that are covered in cotton. The cushions can be removed and made into extra seating when you are catering to more than just yourself, but you would need guests that are fine with being close to the floor. If your chair alone costs $14,000-20,000, then the likelihood is that you don’t know anyone like that. This truly is a fascinating piece that would be a delightful seat to sink into, but the most amazing part would be the rock-throwing party you could have with all of those foam pieces.
