Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 – excellent iPad Pro Pencil alternative! [Review]

Samsung calls it the all-new versatile tab S3, and it actually is. But how much better is it than its predecessor, and does it justify the premium price? Watch my review video to get an idea.

AKG speakers, sAMOLEDscreen, S pen… the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has it all, which you would probably expect for the price. The tablet is around $650 – $750 depending on your choice of Wifi/4G and storage options.

It has a glass design, which is very nice but attracts a lot of fingerprints, so make sure you have a small wet pouch to wipe off the prints every now and then (everytime you touch it actually).

The bright and vivid sAMOLED screen is a feast to your eyes. No pixelation, beautiful bright colors and HDR video. So no cons there.

Snapdragon 820 inside, makes sure the CPU is 18 times faster and the GPU is three times faster than the previous models. That’s pretty normal actually, it would be weird if it was slower than the previous one lol.

Not so impressed by the AKG speakers. There are four speakers, two on the top and two on the bottom. When playing video the sound is not that great, but when gaming it’s better when performing stereo.

THE S PEN!
Well, this is that one thing that makes the tablet special. I have been searching for something that can replace my paper notes and I found it! I didn’t want to buy an expensive iPad Pro and Pencil. Don’t get me wrong, those products are fantastic, but are around $200 more than the S3. The S Pen really does what’s it’s meant to do and that’s write with no latency, and capture all the details you put into it. The tip is 0,7mm and you get extra tips in the box. So if you’re searching for something that can replace your paper and is cheaper than an iPad pro, well this will be your best choice. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not cheap either! ($650 for the one in the video, but there’s definitely value for money here).

The battery has 12 hours of playback, which is great but not mind blowing. If you have a Samsung phone, you’re in luck, because syncing will be very easy as well.

I was not so impressed with the front and back facing camera. They are good enough, but not amazing.  But hey, who uses a tablet to film or shoot pictures, am I right?

You can also buy an extra keyboard to make it a tad more professional.

ROUNDUP
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is worth the price if you are looking for a professional high end tablet with a lot of features. If you’re just looking for something to browse the web or watch Youtube videos, I would reccommend another less full featured tablet, and you’ll also have to stick to the paper writing then ;)
