Save the Dirt – soil erosion is contributing to climate change

When we think of climate change, we think of the air and sea but dirt is really important to the process and if we don’t start making sure that we keep the soil going, we’re going to have more trouble on on our hands.

Aside from being a place we put our food that we need to grow, soil is also a carbon capture. However, with the erosion of soil around the world by mostly man made issues, is releasing that carbon back into the atmosphere. This isn’t great. It also lessen the amount of plants able to grow and capture the carbon from the atmosphere which is also not great.

Covering soil with buildings, erosion, and over watering are all ways that we’re contributing to the issue. It may not seem like much but keeping our dirt protected will do much to combat climate change and make the Earth a better place to live in general.
