Schmap Local – auto cut and paste

Schmaplocal2

Paul Hallett, CEO of Schmap, sends me news of their latest toy, Schmap Local. It’s basically a browser plugin for speeding up online local search – say looking for a bike shop or whatever. Now instead of laboriously scribbling down the details, you just click a button to send the address and telephone number to your mobile phone, email or printer. It’s a small thing, but a real time saver. Only IE at the moment during the beta, but Firefox is coming in a week or two. Nice one.

No more schmucking around, scribbling important addresses and phone numbers on scraps of paper or fumbling to key them into a PDA. No more errors, no more wasted time, no more tired fingers! Schmap Local is a clever little browser plug-in that: Recognizes addresses and phone numbers on your favorite local search websites. Links automatically with Skype, so you can call any saved phone number with a single click. Prints and emails addresses and phone numbers, or copies them anywhere on your computer. Sends them via SMS text message to your mobile phone, or syncs via Outlook with your PDA, BlackBerry or iPod.
