Should We Work Less In The Winter – shorter office hours and more sleep hours

Winter blues is real and we should all have to work less in the winter because of it. At least that’s what some scientists are looking into. It may seem far fetched but wanting to say in bed longer might be about more than just the cold.

You may have heard of SAD (seasonal affective disorder) in which people have many very serious symptoms that interferes with their lives. Not everyone has this but most people lose some energy in the winter and the cause may be the lack of light and general weather. Our bodies are trying to push us to flow with the natural rhythms but that doesn’t exactly align with the time clock.

Our circadian clock, the way our body measures time, changes a lot throughout the year due to a number of factors, the early setting sun being one of them. By going along with them, we can all be healthier and more productive. Maybe bring up a schedule change at the next staff meting, see how the boss takes it? After all, you can’t fight nature.
