Shut Down Power Plants – study concludes that we have too many to make emissions goals

The news out, we have too many power plants to meet emissions goals and even worse, we’re building more. All of these plants are going to keep pumping out emissions for years to come but there’s a simple solution. Shut them down early.

We’re building plants to meet the demands of energy and although there are plans to counteract the carbon output from them, such as carbon capture programs, these won’t completely offset the damage done by these plants.

The study that found the issue with the power plants did not take into account things like agriculture of deforestation which also contribute to the problem. This a radical and focused study and following solution it acknowledges that it may not be the most feasible due to a variety of factors but looking more critically at our reliance on certain energy sources will help us make changes going forward.
