SmartNav 4 EG – hands free ergonomic mouse

Image

SmartNav 4 EG is an infrared mouse controller that allows you to drive a computer cursor without using your hands. Designed for people who can no longer use computer mice due to repetitive strain the SmartNav attaches to the top of the monitor and tracks a reflective spot attached to the user’s glasses, hat, or even just stuck on the forehead. With one small head movement you can move the cursor from one end of the screen to the other.

The SmartNav software allows you to calibrate your movements with all sorts of options, including amplifying movements if your neck is weak in certain directions, and to configure the button clicking. You can use any keyboard key, your voice or dedicated USB foot and hand switches as mouse clicks. NaturalPoint also make a more accessible version called the SmartNav 4 AT with an even wider range of button options for people with limited or no limb movement. Price for the SmartNav 4 EG is US$399 and the SmartNav 4 AT is US$499. I have no idea how good it is with Crysis or WoW.

NaturalPoint’s SmartNav 4 is a reliable and accurate, hands-free mouse alternative that allows complete control of a computer by naturally moving the head.
