If you’ve been wondering where jet packs, flying cars and motorized shoes are, look no further, because the first step has been taken. They’re called spnKIX, and because of the technology like laptops, cellphones, and remote controlled cars, you can now whiz around at about 10 miles per hour. This Kickstarter project started up just a few days ago, and has already seen more than enough backing to put it into production.
These strap on over top of your shoes, and are controlled by a remote that is about the size of a key fob. Each shoe contains a wheel motor and a battery pack that needs to be charged for about 2-3 hours. You can get about 2 to 3 miles in on a full charge, but make sure you would know your destination before you rely on them to get you somewhere, or else you’ll be lugging some dead weight around. If you’re wanting your own pair, you may want to get in while they are $375 on Kickstarter, or you’ll be looking at $649 when they hit the shelves. Some things to keep in mind are a weight limit of 180lbs, and a shipping date of March 12th.
