The folks at OCTiV clearly have a thing about noise. Witness the $50.00 Terk VR1 which apparently overcomes the ‘too loud-too soft’ syndrome with television viewing (although this review doesn’t seem too encouraging).

Take a look also at the company’s Winamp plug-in which promises the same level of automatic volume level control for playlists.
