Story of the humble remote control

Heh heh, so this guy Robert Adler invented the remote control. In 1956. Actually what he invented was the one completely without wires which TV maker Zenith introduced in that year – the Space Command. Now you may think that this is sort of ‘ho hum, so what’, but in fact it’s had a profound effect on television, commercials, and probably even obesity rates over the years.

So let’s hear it (or not) for the little push button marvel.
