Switch Commuter Bike – simple practical folding bike

This year’s Australian Design Awards have popped up some great stuff, but it’s even more impressive when the winner is a student. This Switch Commuter Bike won the student design prize and it’s easy to see why. Most folding bikes are quite complicated, with small wheels and complex folding mechanism. The Switch is a standard sized bike that folds in half in a single simple motion. Once collapsed you can push it around on its wheels making it much easier to handle on public transport. Very neat, now it just has to get to market!

Switch is aimed solely at users who want to ride to and from their places of employment. It offers the user the added bonus of taking the bike easily on and off public transport in and out of lifts and the ability to store the bike in a small place at home or in the office when not in use.

  • Now we need production and an affordable price and it' will be a winner

  • These pictures don't do the design justice. From watching the youtube video the design really rocks. Please produce in Australia first. I'll buy one.
