Synapse Phone – custom tailor your perfect smartphone

Synapsephone

Forget about wallpapers, if you really want to customise your mobile phone, you’ll need to sign up for a new Synapse Phone. This German company is giving its customers the power to configure almost every component in their handset, from the camera down to the audio out port.

The base unit, which will ship with Android 2.2 when released, is priced at €299.00 including VAT, SIM free, which is pretty good for a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen, GPS, Bluetooth and all the usual trimmings. But the delicious part is the fact you can upgrade the thing to WiMax, camera flash, 12 megapixel, twin cameras, FM radio…you get the picture.

Fully stacked (and we mean stacked!) ups the price to €673.89, but you’re talking a monster mobile which will blow away everything else on the market in terms of spec. In fact the only thing we could see which could be a little sub-par is the biggest battery at 1500mAh may not be chunky enough to drive a maxed out custom kit. Still, what a gas.

The company has stopped taking pre-orders now, due to massive demand at launch, and assuming the process works at the factory end, it will be fascinating to check out the handset when it actually hits the street. [Via]

Wouldn’t it be nice if you can choose the hardware and all the other features your smartphone should have? And that is what we do, we build your smartphone always with the newest technologie available. You choose what you need and what you want, without paying a lot of money for features you never use.

  • I don't think that's for the card itself, Ichy, it's for the upgraded port and firmware to accept 32GB cards.
