Qilin 1000 km EV Battery From CATL Will Revolutionize The Motor Industry (No Joke)

The world’s largest EV battery maker, CATL, released a ground breaking 1000 km (620 mile) range battery back in June which set the EV world alight.  The new Qilin (pronounced cheeling) battery not only offers mind blowing range and energy density, but features a bunch of other cutting edge tech which will speed up charging to the point where it rivals filling up at a gas station. Will solid state batteries trigger a magic new EV age?

It’s pretty common knowledge that upgrading battery tech is going to be crucial to mass adoption of electric transportation of any type.  Lithium Ion is an establish tech, but it’s too volatile and inefficient to encourage a breakthrough in electric vehicles. Could Lithium Sulfur batteries be the game changer we’re hoping for?

UK company Oxis Energy is planning to shake up the electric transportation industry with a newly developed lithium sulfur battery. When you’re shopping for a new gadget, you probably make sure you check the battery life on it. If the battery doesn’t give you at least a couple of hours of usage, you’re probably going to pass on it. The problem is, the smaller the battery, the less use it will get before dying. What if there was a way to keep the battery small but increase the life of it? That’s Solid Energy’s goal.

The Battery Price Scam – Hint: We’re Probably Being Ripped Off! [In-Depth Test]

We’ve just finished conducting some tests on a range of different AAA alkaline battery brands to find out which are worth the price and which aren’t. With some very surprising results! Everyone buys household batteries, right? But most times we just buy what the marketing tells us to buy, without having a clue which batteries are actually the best value for money.
