If you were a kid during the 90’s, you almost certainly remember Tamogotchi. They were little keychains that contained a virtual pet. You would feed them, do activities with them, and they would respond according to how you took care of them. I never saw the point in them, as I had a real dog that I found far more entertaining. However, I was most certainly in the minority, as they were one of the hottest and most memorable toys from the decade. Well if you’ve been missing your tiny virtual pet, you’ll be happy to know that they’re back.
The new Tamagotchi iD L Anniversary Model resembles the same keychain shape as its predecessor. Of course, it’s considerably more advanced these days. By advanced, I mean that they’re in color. There are 32 characters to choose from, 11 of which are unique to the iD line. There are also new functions for your pet, including dating and marriage to other pets. So how much are these little keychain friends? Each one will set you back $112. With smartphones getting into the hands of kids, and so many available apps to choose from, it makes you wonder if this sort of thing will take off like it did back in the 90’s.
