TEAC AD-800 – good guy deck restores your old cassette tape quality while transferring them over to digital

Dig deep enough into the attic, drawers or basement of most homes and somewhere you’ll find a collection of ancient cassette tapes holding beloved tunes from yesteryear. Forgotten and abandoned, these tiny relics are all that’s left of an era where the Walkman reigned supreme and the Bee Gees were more than just a collective hairdo.

For some people, the audio contained on those tapes is more than just a sentimental memory, but something vital, like talks, reflections even book material, so restoring them becomes more important than ever. The TEAC AD-800 is an analog to digital conversion deck which uses Dolby noise reduction tech to automatically remove noise, hiss and other unwanted stuff from your tape recordings as it transfers the audio to CD quality digital files.

The device also comes with a tape speed control which can help minimize the warping effects of tape stretch and restore the original pitch of the recordings. The fact is those old tape decks were not that gentle on cassette tape at all, so this is quite a useful feature. The TEAC also features USB and aux in ports, so you can connect other ancient products like reel to reel recorders or LP turntables and convert the audio to digital MP3 files for easier access on your modern player or phone.

The product costs $499.95 and comes with a remote control and relevant cables.
