Temptation Blocker is a freeware program that helps you kick the habit. You know, the procrastinating, time-wasting, life sapping computer addiction you pretend you haven’t got. Hah, don’t try and deny it, what are you doing reading this drivel for if you’re not totally hooked eh? Eh? Answer that if you can. Pathetic.
Anyhoo, it’s a simple set up, just tick the programs you want to block out of your life – browsers, email, instant messaging, net phone, you get the drill. Set a time limit and press the Get Work Done! button. After that you’ll be unable to access the program until the time limit has expired. Brilliant!
I suggest you use it in conjunction with the rather excellent RescueTime application which we’ve mentioned here before. That way you’ll get a good idea of where you’re wasting your time before you start setting time limits. Good luck!
Temptation Blocker is a program that lets you lock yourself out of specific applications for a specified period of time. A window displays how much time remains. In order to unblock a program you must enter a 32 character string as a disincentive.
