The Aspire R7 is the convertible car of laptops

Acer Aspire R7
We’ve all been faced with wanting a new electronic gizmo at one point or another. What with all these laptops, tablets, smartphones, phablets, and more, it’s hard to pick which is the most practical to get. Thankfully, new innovations are getting us closer and closer to having all of it rolled up into one product.

While we’re not there completely yet, the Aspire R7 is looking like a good step in that direction. This touchscreen laptop has four different viewing modes which include notebook, Ezel (pronounced “easel”), tablet, and display. The notebook and tablet modes are exactly what you’d expect, but the Ezel mode puts the screen closer to you, covering the oddly-placed trackpad, and the display mode does a 180 degree turn so that you don’t have any distractions such as the keyboard marring your field of vision. As the keyboard is backlit, you’ll be getting ambient light in the background, giving your eyes a break while you’re staring at the screen.

The HD screen is 15.6”, and on the inside you’ll find an Intel Core i5 processor, 6GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive, and a 24GB SSD. The exterior has audio jacks, a USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. This convertible laptop will cost around $1000, which isn’t terribly surprising for all the twisty-turns it can do. The flair doesn’t mean you should buy it, but it is neat.
