The Digg PC – the ultimate fanboy case mod

Diggpc

The Digg PC is a bit of an oddity, isn’t it? Built to celebrate a rabid, flesh eating swarm of angry teenaged bumblebees. But hey, whatever floats a boat. It’s kind of pretty though, for a PC, doncha think?

The Digg case will primarily be made of 1/2″ MDF (medium density fiberboard) with a few acrylic windows. It is cheaper than aluminum and acrylic but does have some disadvantages. For starters, cutting is a very dusty process, you have to prime it before paint, and you can’t screw into it without problems. Even with pre-drilled holes, a screw can cause bulging or a small fracture so I would simply like to avoid it. MDF can be bonded with regular wood glue however it is not necessarily meant for heavy objects.
