With the growing emphasis on smaller and more energy efficient living, a standard desk just won’t do. The Flatmate, the sleek, slim workstation designed by Michael Hilgers and produced by Müller Möbelwerkstätten, offers plenty of storage and work space while taking up minimal space.
Able to be fixed to an adjoining wall via a V-strip and two screws when closed, the Flatmate measures just 27 x 44 x 4 inches (71 x 114 x 12 cm) and is perhaps the slimmest workstation on the market. It unfolds by lowering a gas spring and can be secured with a lock and offers plenty of space for a 17 inch laptop with room to spare. Available in 14 colors, it offers a glare-free fluorescent workspace light, a long power cable to charge your laptop or any other device, side storage areas for CD’s and a stand for your tablet.
No word yet on price yet but the award-winning Flatmate would be perfect for both form and apartment living. The toughest decision will be which color to choose!
But the the silly chair takes up all the room you save.
