The Harm Of Organic Farming – organic farming adds to climate change but that doesn’t mean it’s canceled

Organic food is supposed to be better for the environment and yourself but that’s not really true. Turns out that farming organically has a larger impact on climate change than conventional farming. Which is a real bummer for everyone.

The reason for this is simply the amount of land that is needed to farm organically and the damage as far as climate is concerned is caused by the increase in deforestation. The greater land use results in less forest which leads to greater climate change.

This is the same issue that bioplastics present. It is important that as we are moving away from harmful products, we’re assessing the replacements thoroughly. This isn’t a call to dump organic food, just to be mindful of what you are purchasing and to make choices that support our health and environment.
