The worst things to contend with when you’re trying to sleep are light and sound. Even if you’re normally good at sleeping in a noisy environment or ignoring the brightness (that you can somehow see even though your eyes are closed), there are some nights where you just can’t take it. You can make a B-line for your ear plugs and mask, but they have a nasty habit of falling off or coming out during the course of the night.
The Hibermate is hoping to be the all-in-one solution for those that struggle with sleeping through exterior sensory annoyances. This is a sleep mask that will block out all light, and a good deal of sound. The ear cups consist of medical-grade silicone, foam, and jersey-cotton. These are detachable from the sleep mask if you’d prefer to just keep out light. This features a double strap in the back so it won’t slide off of your head, and is adjustable in the front. The sleep mask has recessed eye areas so you can still open your eyes if you need to, and won’t feel as though your eyelashes are being mashed. This is a $40 purchase that would be awesome for night shift workers, but you’ll need to make sure you can still wake up to your alarm.
