The Red Ferret Journal Product of the Year 2007: Web – CoveritLive. This was one heck of a hard decision because the field was crammed with potential winners. This was, after all, the year in which Web 2.0 found its wings at last and started to soar. Joost for its potential to massively disrupt the television status quo, the BBC iPlayer for moving so graciously and quickly to the more open Flash format, FotoFlexer for an absolutely superb free feature set, the excellent Atlas from Fresh Logic, the list of potential winners stretches out a mile long.

In the end though it was the full on, Web 2.0, citizen journalist potential to totally blow the lid wide open for live news and event reporting by millions of bloggers that really won the day with this application. That and the fact that the developers have produced one of the most innovative, *complete* and user friendly applications out of the gate that I’ve ever seen from a startup company. And hey, it’s not just another tedious social networking site clone hoping for a fast exit!
