How many times have you wanted to go water skiing, only to find that you don’t have anyone to drive the boat? Sure, you could always pay someone to take you for a few laps around the lake, but why not try to be a little more self-sufficient? That’s right, steer the boat while you’re being pulled behind it. While that might sound like a feat worthy of James Bond, you can actually do it yourself, with the right boat.
The Skier Controlled Tow Boat is one of the craziest creations I’ve seen in a little while. It is a $17,000 boat designed solely to pull someone who is skiing (wake boarding, tubing, etc). It features controls on the handle for steering, and will automatically stop if the person lets go. With a top speed of 40 MPH, I can imagine how much fun it is to catch the boat after you’ve let go. Sure, it cuts the power, but when traveling that fast, it’s going to keep sailing on for a bit. My suggestion? Get a real boat and a friend to drive it.
