Thudit – real time image search from Flickr, Instagram and Twitter

There’s no question that the web is becoming more and more of a visual medium every day. Where once we had feature articles we now have Pinterest, where there were paragraphs now there’s Twitter.

So it’s no real surprise to find that some enterprising folk have come up with a real time image search engine they’re calling Thudit. No we don’t know either, maybe it’s something to do with the sound an image makes as it hits the digital airwaves? Anyway the service is kind of like Pinterest meets Godzilla Facebook, only without the snark.

The site mention Instagram and Flickr, but all the results we received were from Twitter, which app founder Freddie Wynne tells me is just a reflection of the fact that Twitter delivers more images per buck than any of the other services. They had a source filter in the past, but nobody used it, so now it’s basically just a massive stream of Twitter images returned for your chosen search term.

Despite this, or maybe because of it, we found it to be very cool, offering something we haven’t seen before. Whether that will be enough to help it gain mass adoption is another matter, but we wish them well. Definitely worth a bookmark.
