Thunderbird 3 RC2 – latest release candidate confirms that this is one sweet email client

The latest release of the Thunderbird 3 email client just landed on my desk via a discreet update to my installed beta and it’s very nice indeed. This RC2 version is likely to be the final test before the public release of the finished program, and first impressions are wow. It’s very fast, I love the new search tabs functionality and there are a ton of nice little features which make for an easier and more efficient email experience.

Like the fact that if you mention anything to do with attachments in a message (e.g. ‘I’ve attached…’) the program will automatically insert an easy to use Attachment link to remind you to actually grab the file before you send. The most important part of Thunderbird of course, is the add-ons feature, and this is where we’ll have to wait for developers to catch up with the new version.

Overall, this is a great release, and one that is likely to cement Thunderbird’s position as one of the best email clients on the planet.
