Tile Tabs – turn your Firefox tabs into tiles and save time viewing [Freeware]

If you’re a multitasking nut, you probably get impatient clicking on different tabs to switch from one website to another. Sometimes, for whatever reason, you just need to see everything all at once instead of having to cycle through them each individually. This could be especially useful when you want to compare content or data side by side without having to switch between the two or more sites.

For this purpose, we present to you Tile Tabs for Firefox. This add-on lets you see all your open websites in a nicely arranged tiled view, perfect for scanning. After installing, you’ll need to restart the browser.

You’ll notice the Tile Tabs icon on the add-on bar. When you have several tabs opened, you can click on this, select “New Format” and choose one from the list. It’s a pretty confusing list, so you can alternatively just select “All Tabs – Vertical Grid” or “All Tabs-Horizontal Grid” depending on how you want the content to be divided.

To work on a window, click inside it or click on the “Activate” button on its upper-left corner. There’s also an option to “Sync Scroll” (accessible from the drop-down menu) which scrolls the content of all windows at the same time. If you have two windows on top of each other, scrolling up and down will move both sets of their content.

When you want to switch back to the regular tabbed mode, just click on the Tile Tabs icon again. It’s great for when you want to compare web content, product specs, and other information side by side.
