We talk a lot about the companies that are contributing to the climate crisis but who are they? The Guardian has published a list of the top 20 companies that have contributed the most to the climate crisis. All put together they account for 20 percent of total emissions. Yikes!

This goes to show how much damage the fossil fuel industry has done, and will continue to do, as time goes on. This is important information for legislators to have so that they can build regulations that will actually limit these damages.

Although it is only 20%, that is still a massive part of the global emissions. This is also proof that the discussion needs to include, in a big way, corporate responsibility and not just personal. After all, no matter how much you drive your care or how many flights you take, it’s unlikely that you the individual will even come close to touching the numbers of these companies.
