Trackeverycoin – free hybrid mobile and web expense monitor

Trackeverycoin

Trackeverycoin is a hybrid web and mobile application which lets you keep track of income and expenses quickly and easily. The clever thing about it, which sets it apart from most other personal expense monitoring type products, is the fact that the mobile and web account synch immediately, which means you can keep track of things much easier than having to wait until you get home to your desk to enter it all in.

There are lots of nice pretty graphical reports to help you keep track of your financial situation, and there are useful features like bill reminders and a bill splitter for those annoying meals out with friends, which add to the utility of the product. Of course the main thing that adds value is the fact that it’s free, but let’s move on.

The desktop app, which is the only component to cost money (although there’s no indication of how much!), is based on Adobe Air, which you’ll either love or hate depending on your philosophical leanings, but it does mean it’ll run on just about any computer, Linux, Mac or PC. Unfortunately the mobile app is currently only for Symbian handsets, but you can access a mobile version of the app at m.trackeverycoin.com which should cover most needs.

I found the app to be quick and self-explanatory to use, but somewhat limited in comparison to more sophisticated products in the genre. For instance there’s no what-if scenarios available, this is strictly a what you see is what you spent type app.

Despite the limited functionality, it’s a nice example of the merger of online, mobile and computer, and I expect we’ll see many more of this type of product coming down the pipe in the near future.

Track Every Coin is a simple expense tracker which will help you keep track of your daily expenses, income, savings, bill reminders, company reimbursements and shared/split bills with friends and roommates.
